Dr. George Lueddeke
Educational advisor in higher & medical education and Chair of the Global One Health Education Task Force for The One Health Commission & The One Health Initiative. (United States & Global)

George Lueddeke BA, OTC, MEd, PhD is an educational advisor in higher and medical education. Originally from Canada he worked in both northern and southern communities as a teacher, educational developer, researcher, mentor, senior manager, and program consultant across a wide range of disciplines or professions. In the UK he held posts as founding director of Bradford University’s educational development center and as senior lecturer in medical education at Southampton University’s Faculty of Medicine. Educational advisory support includes, among others, working with the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Postgraduate (KSS) Deanery in London, the UK Centre for Workforce Intelligence, the Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region, and, most recently, the U.S. One Health Commission and the global One Health Initiative as well as the Commonwealth Secretariat in London, with particular emphasis on “promoting sustainable social development and well-being for all.” Publishing widely on educational transformation, innovation and leadership, his recent book, Transforming Medical Education for the 21st Century: Megatrends, Priorities and Change , complements and builds on the seminal Lancet Commission global report, ‘Health Professionals for a New Century: Transforming Education to Strengthen Health Systems in an Interdependent World’ (Prof Julio Frenk and Dr Lincoln Chen, co-chairs). Dr Lueddeke’s current book publication is entitled Global Population Health and Well-Being in the 21st Century: Toward New Paradigms, Policy and Practice (2016) and is meant to stimulate discussion about today’s global realities and to help inter alia translate the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals into meaningful action on the ground.
