On 8 March 2026, on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2026, Badabon Sangho invited VAALO avant-garde Ltd. as a guest organization to participate in a special program celebrating women’s rights and solidarity. The event was held at Chhayanaut and brought together activists, researchers and development professionals.
As part of the celebration, Badabon Sangho organized a panel discussion on the timely and important topic: “How governments can balance free speech with the protection of women in public digital space.” The discussion highlighted challenges faced by women in online spaces and explored policy and governance approaches that can ensure both freedom of expression and protection from digital harassment and abuse.
Following the panel discussion, a Sisterhood Event was arranged to celebrate solidarity among women and allies. A theatre performance titled “Khona” was staged during this segment, which was highly appreciated by the participants for its powerful storytelling and message.
Representing VAALO avant-garde Ltd., two Program and Research Associates, Abedur Rahman Rabbani and Chandon Roy, attended the event. They actively participated in the full program and appreciated the initiative taken by Badabon Sangho to create a platform for dialogue on women’s digital safety and empowerment.
