Online Interactive Educative Seminar: Women, Disease & Violence: Where we are!
One step ahead towards raising voice for violence against women & HIV prevention:
After all the efforts and all the initiatives taken by several governments and non-governments interventions to reduce harm and oppression against women, establishing women rights and equity, still the statistics regarding violence against women shows a very disappointing results. Till now, women are continuously going through several violence oriented actions and their personal and social security is getting compromised. Violence against women goes much broader and includes physical, sexual, emotional, psychological and financial abuse now a days which is negatively affecting women’s physical, mental, and reproductive health. Drastic measures can be taken and some are presently exist but proper solutions are far beyond the reality.
On the other hand, HIV AIDS is significantly connected to this subject matter which is also having deeply negative impact in our socio-economic life. From the very beginning we have seen several projects and planning to make people aware about this deadly virus affected diseases which has still do not have any cure but this AIDS epidemic still affect bodies near about two million lives each year.
Hence keeping these two most significant and alarming concern relatively connected to each other in mind, we VAALO initiated an online interactive and educative seminar on last 5th of December, 2020 having a reflective topic, "Women, Disease & Violence: Where we are!". We went for Facebook LIVE from our official Facebook page of “VAALO avant-garde Ltd.”. In this particular attention worthy online seminar, we gladly had our magnificent panelists, Dr. Saima Khan, Country Manager, “UNAIDS, Bangladesh”; Ms. Fahrtheeba Rahat Khan, Team Leader, “Working with Women-2” project, “SNV”; Mahmuda Kha, Women Protection & Empowerment Program Manager, “International Rescue Committee (IRC)” and Tanzid Basunia, Jounalist, “Daily Kaler Kantho” who enlighten us with their valuable knowledge, experience, opinions and ideas regarding these two most minatory topics. We could see that our respected panelists were from different disciplines and thus we had a much diversified picture on the whole discussion in the seminar. Besides Our Founder and Managing Director of VAALO avant-garde Ltd., “Dr. Nazneen Akhter”, moderated the whole LIVE show and amazingly facilitated a pleasant environment of talking and took the seminar into a conclusive yet thoughtful end.
