On October 17, 2024, VAALO avant-garde Ltd. successfully concluded the first batch of its comprehensive training on Gender Transformative Approaches (GTA) and Human Rights-Based Approaches (HRBA) for the staff of the Association for Prevention of Septic Abortion, Bangladesh (BAPSA). The two-day interactive session, held from October 16 to 17, aimed to equip BAPSA's team with the necessary skills to integrate gender equality and human rights principles into their sexual and reproductive health (SRH) programs.
A total of 20 participants, including doctors, paramedics, nurses, counselors, and administrative staff, attended the training. The sessions were conducted using a variety of participatory methods such as group discussions, quiz game, case studies, and presentations, ensuring an engaging and practical learning environment.
The highlight of the event was the certificate distribution ceremony, graced by Dr. Nazneen Akhter, Founder and Managing Director of VAALO avant-garde Ltd. She, along with Mr. Md. Altaf Hossain Executive Director and senior officials of BAPSA, presented certificates to all participants, acknowledging their successful completion of the training. Dr. Nazneen Akhter's presence reinforced the importance of fostering professional development within healthcare sectors.
This training, supported by Swedish Sida, is part of a broader initiative to strengthen the capacity of BAPSA staff, ensuring gender-sensitive and rights-based approaches in their service delivery. It marks a significant step forward in promoting equity, social justice, and non-discrimination in healthcare.
The second batch of the training will be held on October 22 and 23, 2024, continuing VAALO’s commitment to empowering organizations through capacity-building and policy-oriented training.
