Coronavirus (COVID-19), the newly emerging infectious disease pandemic has been a Global central health crisis of a generation for the last couple of months. We all know, this disease is a highly contagious and fast spreading viral infection caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2), which emerged in December 2019 form Wuhan, China and spread around the whole world. At the moment this virus transmission happens from human to human. If we look into the current statistics, we will see about 15 lakh coronavirus cases around the whole world where the number of deaths is about 88 thousand and increasing every day. Unfortunately, there is no clinically approved antiviral drug or vaccine available to be used against COVID-19, which clearly explains our current uncertainty and leads us to fight against it together through self-awareness, frequent hand-washing, wearing mask, maintaining social distancing and of course supporting each other for the survival.
Now at this moment, as a responsible citizen of the world, it is our duty to put our contribution in the society we live in. People from different corners of the country are trying to mitigate this disaster by many means. We, “VAALO avant-garde ltd” also initiated the response in contribution, understanding the need of the community and tried our best to put some effort in helping vulnerable groups at this moment. Our team distributed face masks, hand washing soaps and awareness leaflets among more than hundred street rickshaw pullers in Dhaka last month (March 2020). This small event makes us feel really hearty and highly encouraged for repeating such. Accordingly, this month (April 2020) we again came up with a contribution plan keeping the “World Health day” (7th April) in mind. As the theme of the “World Health Day” was to “Support Nurses and Midwives”, so relating and responding with this theme, we decided to provide PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) for all the officials and staffs of “Kailaikuri Health Care” project located at Hagurakuri, Madhupur, Tangail-1996, Bangladesh who are working dedicatedly day and night in this critical moment and saving the people who are being attacked by the several health hazards. Their health care service is for the very poor tribal and marginalized people of the community in Hagurakuri, Madhupur, Tangail-1996.
In front of this global crisis, our contribution seems to be very small but we have to keep trying our level best to take part as an active soldier of this fight against COVID-19. We believe in our heart, if everyone comes ahead from their end, we hope to ensure the safety of our beloved earth and its mankind together from this deadly COVID-19.
