CEA Policy Review & Committee Orientation Workshop of BDRCS

VAALO engagement in the CEA Policy Review & Committee Orientation Workshop 2025, held on yesterday 22 December 2025 at the Hotel Six Seasons, Gulshan, Dhaka. The day-long workshop was organized by the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) as part of its continued efforts to strengthen Community Engagement and Accountability (CEA) across the organization. The workshop brought together around 60 participants from BDRCS including Technical Team of VAALO avant-garde Ltd., reflecting strong institutional commitment to accountability and community-centered action.

The program formally commenced with opening remarks by Md. Rezaul Karim, Director, Disaster Response and Climate Management (DCRM), BDRCS, who outlined the purpose of the workshop and the importance of institutionalizing CEA within BDRCS operations. This was followed by remarks from Dr. Kabir M. Ashraf Alam, ndc, Secretary General of BDRCS, who emphasized leadership commitment, cross-departmental collaboration, and the central role of CEA in people-centered humanitarian action. The dais was graced by senior leadership and representatives from BDRCS, IFRC, ICRC, Partner National Societies (PNS), and Directors, underscoring strong partnership and coordination.

The morning session placed special emphasis on the review of the revised BDRCS CEA Policy, where Dr. Nazneen Akhter, Team Leader of the assignment and Managing Director of VAALO avant-garde Ltd., presented the draft revised policy and led structured, participatory discussions to gather feedback for finalization. The session was marked by focused and constructive discussion, with meaningful yet minimal feedback, reflecting strong alignment and shared ownership among participants regarding the revised policy framework.

The workshop was further enriched in the second half of the day by the presence of Dr. Halida Hanum Akhter, Honorable Chairperson of BDRCS, who delivered her honorable speech highlighting accountability, community-centered approaches, and the importance of institutional ownership of CEA. The afternoon session focused on the orientation of the CEA Steering Committee, Technical Committee, and Working Group, strengthening clarity on roles, coordination mechanisms, and operational guidelines for effective implementation across BDRCS operations.
