Online Idea Connectivity Seminar “Virus! Vaccine: Health & Well Being”
From November 2019 to this April 2021, the whole world is going through the worst and terrifying trajectory of COVID-19. Around 151 million people have been affected and more than 3 million died worldwide till now. This invisible virus is rapidly facing mutation and ending up being various kinds of variants. To combat the situation, already several vaccines have been distributed all over the world. Although, in Bangladesh more than 8 million doses have been given, around two million have been fully vaccinated.
For last few days, Bangladeshi people are passing through the imposed lockdown since the situation of COVID-19 effect is visibly worsening day by day. Hospitals are lacking number of ICU, seats, oxygen and the number of the patients are raising at an alarming. Besides, observing the current turmoiled scenarios of our neighboring state India, there is a high risk of spreading the newly appeared variant of Corona virus all over Bangladesh as well. In this regard, wearing masks is the first and foremost duty for all to hinder further casualties.
Being concerned about this alarming situation, we VAALO have successfully organized a virtual online idea connectivity seminar where we got four most prudent and renowned virus, vaccine and human health experts with us as our panelists to discuss about the overall ongoing situation and possibilities regarding COVID-19 and its vaccines. They are Dr. Mohammad Mushfiq Hussain, Advisor of IEDCR (Consultant, Crisis Emergency & Risk Communication, WBG); Dr. M. Salim Uzzaman, Principle Scientific Officer of Emerging Infectious Diseases, IEDCR; Dr. Saif Ullah Munshi, Departmental Chairman, Professor, Department of Virology, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University. We went for Facebook LIVE from our official Facebook page of “VAALO avant-garde Ltd”.
Each of our panelists not only described current situation of vaccines, effectiveness, hospital facilities and oxygen supplies, but also shared their valuable opinions regarding further possibilities and threats equally. There was a vibrant question-answer session held where our panelists faced lots of questions from our audiences regarding COVID vaccines and their availability. They clarified all the confusions very tangibly. Our Managing Director, Dr. Nazneen Akhter, moderated the whole program throughout the entire seminar, joined and listened to the discussion and nicely created a knowledge and information transcending environment with a thoughtful conclusion.
