Women violence is everywhere in the world. Every year, the world celebrates 25th November to eliminate violence against women. This year the theme is “Orange the world: End violence against women now!”
To commemorate the day, VAALO avant-garde Ltd. arranged an interactive open discussion program on “Violence against women: Tale of Inter Generation” at the corporate office. Participants from diverse Universities of the country like University of Dhaka, North South University, Brac University, Independent University Bangladesh, Dhaka City College, Govt. Titumir College and others were present. The program started with a brief presentation on the significance of International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and the Current statistical situation all over the world.
On the other hand, we have Ms. Fartheeba Rahat Khan, Team leader, RMG Inclusive Business Program, SNV and Ms. Razia Mahbuba Akhter, Associate Professor, Department of Economics, Mohammadpur Govt. College as our honorable panelist to enlighten the program with their prior knowledge and valuable experience in the field of Gender violence and SRHR. Ms. Sayeda Fatima, Lecturer, Department of History of the National University was also present in the program.
The Founder & Managing Director of VAALO avant-garde Ltd. Dr. Nazneen Akhter facilitated and moderated the session with her exclusive participatory approach which eventually created a huge platform for the participants to express their thoughts and share their pains with an open mind. Besides, Participants shared their views and stories spontaneously and discussed the solutions with necessary recommendations accordingly. Through this, open discussion session, many broader aspects of women's violence and many untold scenarios were witnessed clearly. Therefore, VAALO’s Interactive Open Discussion on Violence against Women: Tale of Inter Generation has ultimately turned into a significant and worthy thought-sharing program indeed which was heavily appreciated by both the panelist and guest participant. So, VAALO’s small effort to arrange such initiatives will be continued with a hope of a better outcome shortly regarding violence against women all over the world.
