The occasion of International Women’s Day is always at the center of focus for VAALO. The day is celebrated every year with different events associated with the new theme of the day. This year’s (2022) theme was- “Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow”. So under this banner line and hashtag “Break the Bias, VAALO arranged a small event which is an interactive open discussion session with the new young generation.
This event was executed on 17th April, 2022 at the corporate office of VAALO keeping two more celebrations in hand, they are- the 7th Anniversary of VAALO’s foundation and the Birthday of our honorable Founder & Managing Director, Dr. Nazneen Akhter. At this event, we had Ms. Farhtheeba Rahat Khan, Independent Consultant, SRHR, Gender, and Labor Workforce Expert, and Sharmin Akter Shetu, Project Coordinator, Bangladesh Legal Aid, and Services Trust as our distinguished guests of honor. We had the young university students from Brac University and East-West University as our valuable participants in the interactive open discussion session.
The event was so lively and full of discussions about the burning topics associated with the event theme. The participants were well aware of raising their valuable thoughts and with a perfect combination of wisdom and experience sharing from the honorable guests’ end, the session certainly turned out to be an exemplary one. Besides like always our beloved Founder & Managing Director, Dr. Nazneen Akhter moderated the session nicely enough to create a cozy, friendly and expressive environment to talk spontaneously. Finally, Special thanks go to the event partner, “Brac University Leadership Development Forum” for their constant support.
The event drew its ending through the tradition of cutting the cakes for VAALO’s 7th founding anniversary and the birthday of our honorable Founder & Managing Director, Dr. Nazneen Akhter. Everyone enjoyed a lot in the event, such events are now become mandatory on every occasion due to the value propagation and learning inspiration from both ends. Hopefully, VAALO will be able to continue organizing such events of people engagement in the future.
