Endline Survey Report of "Integrated Protection and Health Program for Rohingya Refugees in Cox's Bazar”

In a significant milestone for humanitarian efforts in Cox's Bazar, VAALO has completed and submitted the endline survey report for the "Integrated Protection and Health Program for Rohingya Refugees in Cox's Bazar 2022-23" to the International Rescue Committee (IRC). This comprehensive report, covering the period from June 23 to September 23, marks a crucial step forward in understanding and addressing the needs of Rohingya refugees and the host community.

The endline survey, conducted in Rohingya refugee camps 5, 25, 18 and the host community, focused on women's protection and empowerment (WPE), child protection, and health. With a team dedicated to data collection and analysis, VAALO embarked on a rigorous process to gather insights directly from the affected populations.

Visiting the Rohingya refugee camps located in Cox's Bazar, VAALO's team engaged with individuals and families to capture their experiences, challenges, and aspirations. This on-the-ground approach ensured that the survey accurately reflected the realities faced by Rohingya refugees and the host community, providing a holistic view of the situation.

Following the data collection phase, VAALO's team meticulously analyzed the findings, identifying trends, and patterns. The report, meticulously crafted by VAALO's experts, presents a comprehensive overview of the program's impact and effectiveness.

Submission of Endline Study/ Annual Assessment of Care Bangladesh

In May 2023, VAALO Avant-garde Ltd embarked on a vital assignment in the Rohingya Camp, focusing on critical issues such as Gender-based Violence (GBV), Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR). The assignment area was Rohingya camps 13, 15, 16, and Thaingkhali Upazila.

With a dedicated team of experts, VAALO Avant-garde Ltd ventured into the field to collect comprehensive data on various aspects related to GBV, SRHR, WASH, and DRR. Through interviews, surveys, and participatory assessments, they gathered valuable insights from community members, stakeholders, and local authorities. Following rigorous data collection, the team meticulously analyzed the information to identify trends, challenges, and areas for improvement.

After months of diligent work and analysis, VAALO Avant-garde Ltd successfully compiled the findings into a detailed Endline Study/Annual Assessment report. and submitted to Care Bangladesh. The report encapsulates the achievements, challenges, and impact of the CARE Program under the AHP III Consortium, providing valuable recommendations for future interventions and policy advocacy.

Study Report Presentation Meeting

VAALO avant-garde Ltd. has been diligently working on a study titled "A Perception Study on BDRCS Service Delivery on COVID-19" over the past few months. After a thorough and comprehensive process, the study has successfully concluded, culminating in a distinguished report that marks the completion of the assignment.

On Sunday, April 30th, 2023, the VAALO research team met with the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) for a final discussion regarding the study report. The meeting was productive and effective for both parties, paving the way for the final closure of the assignment. This perception study was a remarkable journey for the team, offering numerous learning opportunities that will undoubtedly inform and enhance their future endeavors.

Study Scope and Coverage
The study comprehensively covered all areas of Bangladesh, ensuring a wide-ranging and inclusive analysis. Fieldwork was conducted across four major divisions, capturing diverse perspectives and experiences related to BDRCS's service delivery during the COVID-19 pandemic. This broad geographical coverage ensured that the study's findings are representative of the entire country.

Learning and Future Implications
Throughout the study, the VAALO team encountered numerous new insights and challenges, enriching their expertise and understanding. These experiences will serve as a crucial foundation for their future projects, enhancing their capacity to undertake similar studies with even greater proficiency. IFRC Assignment Completion- ECV Toolkit, ECV Training Manual & Flip-Chart

VAALO was in contract with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) regarding the consultancy work “Developing Flip-Chart on Eleven Communicable Diseases and the ECV Training Module & Tool Kit Bangla Translation.” VAALO successfully develop such dynamic comprehensive deliverables, especially all the pictures of those diseases that were drowned raw by the team. The concerned team members put their highest effort in making this work a potential success and a sign of inspiration for the rest of the members.

Field Visits and Data Collection Commenced for Endline Study

The Australian Humanitarian Partnership (AHP) iii Consortium's CARE program, in collaboration with partners MUKTI and OPCA, made significant progress in assessing the impact of their interventions through comprehensive field visits and data collection in Rohingya Refugee Camps 13, 15, and 16 from May 21 to May 25, 2023. Led by renowned consultant Dr. Nazneen Akhter, the eight-person team, including Md. Arifur Rahman (Operation Manager) and Umme Suriea (Technical Coordinator & Quality control), worked alongside six dedicated data enumerators to conduct the necessary assessments.

The purpose of the field visits was to carry out the Endline Study/Annual Assessment data collection, focusing on four key thematic areas: Gender-Based Violence (GBV), Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH), Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR). The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the CARE program and its partners in addressing the pressing needs of the Rohingya refugee population. Throughout the visits, the team diligently collected data from a wide range of sources. They engaged with community members, CARE staff, and partner organizations to gather qualitative and quantitative information. Interviews, focus group discussions, and observations were conducted to comprehensively evaluate the outcomes, challenges, and success stories of the program.

The field visits were made possible through the outstanding support provided by CARE Bangladesh, whose commitment and assistance proved instrumental in facilitating the smooth execution of the assessments. Dr. Nazneen Akhter, the lead consultant, expressed her gratitude for CARE Bangladesh's fantastic collaboration and the commitment demonstrated by Md. Arifur Rahman and Umme Suriea. Their collective efforts ensured that the team had the necessary resources and support to conduct the field visits and gather crucial data.
